After an initial session to assess a student, we will tailor lesson plans based on ability and the school or result they want to achieve.
The lesson consists of both Maths and English teaching, 55 minutes per subject with a 10 minute break in between. There are two classes for different age groups, one for those aged between 4 and 7 years old (Reception to year 2) and the other for those aged between 7 to 11 (year 3 to year 6). Each class consists of 4 children per tutor.
Both lessons are broken up into 3 segments.
Homework: The students will be set a spelling list every week, of which they will have to find the meaning of 5 of the spellings. The students will also be encouraged to consistently read a book of their choice.
Homework: The students will be set homework according to the topic covered during the lesson.
These lessons are tailored to the students individual needs, depending on their initial assessment. The lesson will cover various topics in the syllabus, commencing with the students strengths and building on them whilst incorporating their weaknesses. Each topic is introduced with power point presentations along with explanations and exam style practise questions.
Tutors will aim to teach the students topics that coincide with their lessons at school, if they are attending school. Typical lessons will consist of the tutor and student going through various exam papers. The lessons will change according to the students educational needs.
